Operation Blessing’s Community of Hope (COH) in Tacloban geared up grade school students for the new learning setup by distributing 100 pieces of school supply kits, donated by COH partner Divine Word Hospital (DWH) Pediatric Department.
Each kit, contained in a long plastic envelope, has pencils, ballpens, erasers, sharpeners, long bond papers, and surgical masks.
“Salamat po. Excited po ako. Magagamit ko po ang mga ito (school supplies) sa aming klase.” Grade 1 student, Charilyn Biore said. [Thank you. I am excited. I can use these school supplies for our class].
After the distribution of the kits, the students went back to their respective tables to attend their tutorial class. Each grade level is facilitated by one tutorial teacher.
DWH Pediatric Department also donated free vitamins to COH, which were turned over to Health and Sanitation Committee Head Leonila Uy. She distributed them to families with infants 0-12 months old.
“Thank you DWH and OB, malaking tulong ito sa mga pamilya dito sa COH na merong maliliit pa na mga anak. Makakabawas na ito sa kanilang aalahanin para sa vitamins ng kanilang mga anak,” Leonila gratefull said. [Thank you DWH and OB, this is a big help to the families here at COH with young children to take care of. It will lessen their burdens on the vitamin needs of their children.
