As a father, his heart breaks every time he sees his family scrimping on food or clothes. But what can he do?
Domingo Constantino, 41, heads one of the destitute families in Iloilo City that lives below the poverty threshold.
He drives a pedicab. He takes home P100 for a whole day’s worth of work, which isn’t enough to feed his wife and five kids. He even pays P300 as rent for the made-from-scrap house they live in.
Every day he prays to have his own pedicab so he can bring a higher take-home pay. He has big dreams for his children, he wants them to finish their studies and have a brighter future.
He didn’t have to wait for long to have his prayers answered. On October 15, 2008, Operation Blessing, with the assistance of the Iloilo local government, chose him among many to receive a brand new pedicab!
“My prayer has been answered! I could now provide well for my family! Thank you so much!”
The once hopeless Constantino now has more hope that he could ask, especially after receiving Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
“It is the Lord who gave me hope t639209229737hrough all this years,” he said. |
